CNN is now reporting that Judd Gregg, recently trumpeted Republican nominee for commerce, has withdrawn himself from consideration with the air of a divorcee citing “irreconcialable differences, specifically over the stimulus bill and funding for the 2010 census.

Biggest fallout from this, aside from the perennial democratic hard on of achieving 60 seats being ever more thwarted, will be the Obama admin being forced to once again go to drawing board for a nominee, even as they work to find a successor for Tom Daschle over at HHS. All I can say at this point is at least it wasn’t tax related.
